The FoodSmiths recently helped Big Rock Little Rooster celebrate their Badcock Apparel Summer Party with a little food, refreshing drinks, and a lot of fun. People on the streets loved the live models and the lovely window display of food. Sous Chef Peg did a wonderful job setting up our display; it was both alluring and delicious!
Two of the biggest hits of the night were our Basil Raspberry Lemonade and the Strawberry & Citrus Herb Lemonade. Man, they were winners! But the whole menu was a great success as well. Here was the menu:
- Our famous Asparagus Tips wrapped in Proscuitto with our tarragon cream
- Delightful Strawberries with Citrus Cream
- Gorgonzola Grapes
-Michigan cherries, crumbled bleu & candied walnuts phyllo tartlets was a warm compliment to its cool companions.
The tone of the night was fun, energetic and light with a menu to match. Thanks to Big Rock Little Rooster for letting us join their summer fête. Here are some pictures from Saturday night:

We had such a great time last year meeting new people. We are looking forward to seeing new faces as well as reconnecting with last year’s friends.
Here’s a picture from last year of Chef Gretchen serving up little bite sized deliciousness. Look how the Strawberry & Citrus Infused Water just speaks to you. Yummy! Come check us out at the Taste of Dublin this Tuesday. See you there!
The Marburn Academy, located just south east of I-71 and 161 in Columbus, is a school that educates “bright children who learn differently.” As members of the ISACS, they will be hosting a group for a day full of discussion and administrative business. We are excited to cater this special event and give these administrators and educators some necessary food for thought.
A well balanced meal is key in creating good brain activity. We have put together some boxed salads that will get those productive minds flowing. Check out some pictures below.

Strawberry Mista Salad...mixed greens, toasted almonds, gorgonzola, bacon and strawberries topped with grilled chicken and served with our balsamic vinaigrette.

Cobb Salad...fresh chopped romaine and spinach, bacon, egg, cheddar, ham, turkey, grilled chicken, tomato and gorgonzola served with our creamy parmesan dressing.

As Spring approaches, the unwelcome signs of winter’s last parade reminds us that we’re not completely done with cold weather yet. Fortunately, brief moments of hope, a day of sunshine or temperatures above 50 degrees, help us to remember that spring is on the way! But what about now? How can find some immediate “spring relief”? I have devised a plan to beat the post winter gloom.
Create a spring-like environment by lightening up your color palette. Think BRIGHT! A lovely flower arrangement can liven up any room. Add some vibrancy to your dining experience with colorful cups, plates, and bowls, which sets the tone for a delicious and visually exciting meal. Try crisp green vegetables, bright red tomatoes, orange & yellow bell peppers. I just had some great strawberries from Florida yesterday. I love when they are small and packed with flavor!
Here are a few of my favorite Spring Things:
–Pastel Colors: like lavender, blues, greens
–Colorful Foods: strawberries, apples, bananas, limes, cilantro
–Reese’s Cup Eggs (darn you, you’re so good)
–Flowers: daffodils, tulips
–Crisp white fabrics with colorful accents
What are your favorite Spring Things? Find them and create a space that gives you a ray of sunshine!
